AllianceChicago is committed to community-based participatory research (CBPR) that equitably involves community health centers. This collaborative methodology builds on the strengths and resources within our team and network, facilitates meaningful partnership, integrates knowledge and action for mutual benefit of all partners, and disseminates findings and knowledge gained to all participating entities.

How to participate:

To collaborate with an AllianceChicago community health center (CHC) on research initiatives, the first step is to identify a research topic. Next, please complete the AllianceChicago New Project Submission Form and submit to research@alliancechicago.org.

A research team member will contact you to discuss your project and next steps. We will help you identify which CHCs would best meet the needs of your study and work with you to develop a relationship with them to gauge whether the project is a good fit.

With approval of your project from a CHC, we will assist you with following their research review process, including formal IRB review and/or in-person presentations to community review boards. AllianceChicago can provide support to the research project on multiple levels, including serving as an administrative liaison or formal research partner.

Please note: In instances where health information technology infrastructure and/or EHR data is not needed, researchers may opt to contact CHCs directly. However, AllianceChicago is still available to assist with research administration needs.
